Sunny Sunday

Lovely weather at 61 degrees today. Beautiful blue skies. Derrick Monroe, a local real estate broker (his wife is our agent), posted this photo on Facebook of this evening’s sunset.

Today Joe and I went for a drive to check out two homes up for sale. Just the exteriors for now as we are waiting to tour homes once our home sales.

The first house was about fifteen minutes away in St. Michael. The house is lovely; however, it has a small yard that is sloped. Really no place for a garden or much of any backyard activities.

The second house is in Rockford about five minutes from Megan and Jeremy. It is a bit larger than what we need with five bedrooms; however, it has the best yard we have seen so far. Large with room for all kinds of garden. We would have to remove three or four of the trees on the property so that a garden would get enough light. The kitchen counters look like they would need replaced and the flooring needs updated. Still the price would make it possible for our budget. There is also a nice park about a block away for the grandkids.

After our drive we stopped in for a late lunch at River Inn Bar & Grill. I enjoy River Inn because I love watching the people. Today we sat in a small room with a beautiful fireplace. A group of people next to us consisted of a mom, nursing her baby girl, three men and five boys ranging in ages from five to about thirteen. Mom went off to the bathroom and when she came back the youngest boy was lying on the ground. She looked at one of the men (she sat next to him during lunch, so I assumed he was her partner) and said, “Really?” Dad shrugged his shoulders. Mom looked down at the little boy and without any exchange of words, the little dude got up and sat in his chair.

It was a peaceful Sunday afternoon.
