Dinner Party (Road Trip Day 36)

Today was a wonderful day of visiting with our friends in Davidson, North Carolina. RD, Ted, and Joe worked on cutting and installing shelving in RD’s new art studio. MD and I baked cupcakes, made a couple of different salads, and visited as we worked together.

Neighbors of our hosts came for dinner this evening. L and R brought their Great Pyrenees puppy, 6-month-old Tucker, for a brief introduction. We all petted and talked to Tucker before dinner while we drank an adult beverage and got to know each other a bit. During and after dinner people shared their stories of international travels. L and R were educators for much of their career and lived in Minnesota for four years. They gave us great tips on surviving the Minnesota winters. Good food, good friends, and good stories made for a magical evening.

Tomorrow, we leave for New Bern, North Carolina where we plan to connect with a friend from my high school days.

Life is good.
