We drove from Middletown, Ohio to Coldwater, Michigan where we plan to stay in a cottage on Long Lake through June 30th. My middle brother, Jeff, and his wife, Kathy, co-own the cottage with members of Kathy’s family.
When we arrived at the cottage, Jeff was on hand to greet
us. My brother retired a few years ago and loves to take his boat out on the
lake to fish. Kathy is also an avid fisher. Jeff has promised us a boat ride tour
of the seven lakes that are connected in the area. Long Lake is one of the
lakes.
Jeff and I spent the afternoon catching up. Joe joined the
conversation after a nap. He had fallen asleep listening to us talk. It was a testament
to Joe’s fatigue because our conversation was interesting.
Kathy came up to the cottage after work and we all went out
to a lovely dinner at a new restaurant, Trainwreck Grill and Ale in Coldwater.
Kathy and Jeff are celebrating their 40th
anniversary at the end of July this year. They are the parents of Renee and
Jami. Yes, the Renee we visited during the last two nights.
Tomorrow, we plan to spend time planning visits with family
and friends in the Bryan and Defiance areas and a few folks in Michigan during
the next three weeks.
