Movie Morals and Real-World Rogues

This morning, the grandkids—Caleb and Charlotte—took me to see Bad Guys 2. It was definitely a “woke” movie, in the best sense of the word: all about how crime doesn’t pay. The good guys win, even if they have to bend the rules a bit to stop someone from stealing all the gold from planet Earth. Maybe this film should be required viewing for Democrats—who sometimes get so caught up in doing things the “right” way that they forget how to play smart.

As a lifelong rule-follower myself, I get it. Choosing the right path isn’t always easy, especially when it means doing what benefits everyone rather than just ourselves. Sometimes, outsmarting the bad guys means being a little more clever—and a little more bold—than we’re used to.

And that brings me to 47. His choices consistently favor what fills his own pockets (and the pockets of his cronies), at the cost of real people, the environment, and democracy itself.

For the friend who recently asked if I would ever concede that 47 is doing what’s right for America: here's your answer—NO.

May we all be a little braver, a little cleverer, and always on the side of what’s right.

Wishing you a weekend filled with good choices—and maybe a little popcorn.
